Bird Flu Pictures

Bird flu pictures are hard to come by, but they're out there. Here's all you need to know about bird flu pictures.

Bird flu pictures aren't pretty

Bird flu pictures aren't exactly unique pieces of modern art that you're going to want to hang on your living room wall. They're gross and unpleasant to look at. Bird flu pictures generally show the affected meat and may make a vegetarian out of the viewer.

Bird flu pictures generally show what the raw meat of an infected bird looks like. Naturally, the bird is deceased when the pictures are taken. Think about a healthy looking raw piece of chicken for a minute. It looks pink and smooth. A chicken that's been infected with bird flu has ugly pock marks and purple splotches all over its skin.

Bird flu pictures are hard to come by

Bird flu pictures can be difficult to find because they're usually used for scientific purposes. The news media doesn't usually slap big pictures of raw bird flu infested meat on the cover of papers, but, if you're really that interested in sneaking a peek, get on the Internet and dig for some bird flu pictures.

The most common bird flu pictures that you will find, or have probably already seen, are of poultry or health workers with big masks over their faces. They have the masks over their faces to protect themselves from contracting the bird flu virus while they're in the midst of destroying the birds. Scientists and health experts also wear the masks if they're investigating material that may have been exposed to the bird flu virus.

Sometimes you can find bird flu pictures that tell how the bird flu virus develops and then spreads from animal to animal. These bird flu pictures are a little technical in nature and not as visually stimulating (or disgusting) as the pictures of the infected meat.

Bird flu pictures don't tell the whole story

If you come across bird flu pictures, that's great. However, in order to be fully informed about bird flu, you need to do a little reading.

The best way to protect yourself from bird flu is not by looking at bird flu pictures, it's by educating yourself on bird flu prevention. There are many things you can do to protect yourself from bird flu. A couple of examples include staying away from poultry, keeping clean quarters and being aware of where your chicken comes from. Bird flu pictures may be interesting, but they won't protect you from infection.
