    The Clydesdale Terrier, or Paisley Terrier was a working dog, which were used to catch rats and small mammals. They were eventually bred with the English Black, Tan Toy Terrier, Waterside Terrier, Broken-Coated Terrier of a blue-sheen body color and finally the Skye Terrier and the Maltese Terrier were crossed with these breeds to help produce long coats.
