Read About Dog Bowls

ImageThese days, dog bowls can be as costly an item as fine chinaware. In fact, some dog owners put their dog's food on the fine china. When shopping for your little buddy's kitchenware, you'll find everything from personalized dog dishes to stainless steel bowls.

Choosing dog bowls used to be sort of simple. You didn't have to think too much about style or color. All you had to do was go to the pet store, pick out a small, medium, or large bowl appropriate for the size of your loyal buddy, bring it home and fill it up with your good boy's favorite dog food. Now, aside from size, you have other choices to make.

Would you like collapsible dog bowls that your pup can take along on a hiking or camping trip? You'll need something besides dog food and water to put inside his dog back pack. How about a special stainless steel pet food bowl to keep inside the dog run? Inside the house, your buddy boy might enjoy a monogrammed dog dish with his name on the side. A white transparent plastic dog dish with plastic dog bones embedded makes a fun gift for the other dog lovers in your life.

Why not give your big pooch a feeding station? The dog bowls are placed inside a small wooden shelf which is designed to stand on the floor. The bowls are removable for cleaning. Your dog will resemble a small horse feeding at a miniature trough. Feeding stations also come with cabinet space beneath the bowls for stashing your buddy's extra dog biscuits, Image milk bones and other special dog treats. Adjustable feed bowls perched on a pedestal that resemble little bar stools are very handy for the growing puppy in the house. As your puppy grows taller, simply adapt the bowl height.

The main thing to keep in mind while choosing a dog bowl is whether it will be heavy-duty enough to sit still while your pooch dines. You don't want one that will go skidding across the kitchen floor. You also want a bowl that is easy to clean, and is dishwasher and microwave safe. Heavy stone ware pet food bowls are good, and so are stainless steel dog bowls. It's an added benefit if the bowl is attractive and your dog truly enjoys eating out of it.

If you're going to be away for a long day, or you're planning an overnight getaway (and what dog owner doesn't need to escape their responsibilities every once in awhile?), provide your dog with an automatic dog feeder. The water bowls and pet food bowls that come with the automatic feeding stations should be easy to clean and hold plenty of water or dog food.

You can still opt for a boring old bowl, but it's easy to add a bit of pizzazz to your dog's life with a high-gloss, hand-painted, leopard skin porcelain bowl. You'll find that feeding your dog is simply a lot more fun in designer dog bowls.
