Dog electronics are designed to help train your pet effectively without causing any harm to her.
Things to consider:
Startle, Not Harm – Dog electronics, like shock collars, are not intended to harm the dog, but to startle it. For best results (and a guiltless heart), set the collar at it´s lowest level of stimulation. Then ever so slightly increase the level until your dog´s head and ears perk up curiously as if they just heard a knock at the door. That is as high as you will need to take this kind of dog electronics. When new distracting elements are added into the mix, this incrementally increases the stimulation, again only until your dog looks around like he just heard something. A shock collar is a training tool, not a punishment tool.
Electronic Fences – Dog electronics, like containment systems, do not have to be a standalone training technique. They work quite well in conjunction with other popular training methods, like clickers, gentle leaders, and treats
Always Prepared – Always keep a spare set of batteries around for your dog electronics. You never know when the batteries in your dog´s containment collar, barking collar, or other dog electronics will suddenly die. Murphy´s Law says it will usually happen at an inconvenient time. Be prepared, and, as soon as you need to use the spare, replace it with another. There will never be a gap in the usefulness of your dog electronics.
