Choosing Flea & Tick Combs

Flea and tick combs help you discover if the problem exists, and then they help you solve the problem.

Things to consider:

  • Comb Test – Combs cannot only help you remove fleas and ticks from your dog, but they can help you identify whether your dog has fleas or ticks in the first place. Simply comb your dog with one of your dog flea and tick combs while she is standing over a sheet of white paper or a wet paper towel. If any red or black specks appear on the paper or towel, you will know right away that you and your dog have some uninvited tenants to evict.

  • Soapy Water Tip – To both kill the fleas and ticks you comb from your dog and remove them from the comb, just dip it into a bowl of soapy water after each pass through your dog´s coat.

  • Make it Slick – To make the fleas and ticks come off your dog easier, add a bit of petroleum jelly to the teeth of the dog flea and tick combs.
