Oil sprays that contain Aloe Vera, preen oil, and other types of oils can improve the condition of your bird´s feathers and can ease stress during molting.
Things to Consider:
Auto Misters – An automatic mister, sprayer, is a great way to give your bird a daily opportunity to "self–clean." You should try to fine a sprayer that allows you to set both the frequency and duration of the mist.
Feather Cysts – Occasionally check your bird for feather cysts. They typically develop near the primary wing feathers and are caused when a growing feather is unable to break through the skin.
Feather Picking – Most consider feather picking a behavioral condition in birds. Sometimes, however, it´s caused by skin lesions that cause itching. If your bird is engaging in feather picking, it´s wise to have his skin biopsied to rule out a skin condition.
