Things to Consider:
Spacing – When placing perches in your bird´s cage, you should try to space them far enough apart so that your bird is able to stand up straight.
Potentially Slippery Surfaces – If you buy perches, ladders, or swings that are made of plastic, or PVC pipe, you might want to lightly sand the surfaces, or rungs, so that they´re not too slick for your bird to hold onto.
Right Kind of Rope – Rope used in perches, ladders, or swings should be "untreated" rope, to ensure the rope is free of chemicals. In addition, the rope should be checked frequently for fraying.
