Read About Choosing Baked Dog Biscuits

Dog biscuits are great treats, but they do other valuable jobs as well when it comes to taking good care of your dog.

Things to Consider: Biscuits as dental chews, size of the dog, cures for nighttime problems.

  • Dentist Approved - Biscuits are not just dog treat bakery desserts (though to go by your dog, they are nothing but that). They are also an excellent supplement to your regular dog dental care program. Like kibble (or "dry" food), biscuits are hard and cause the dog to make a beneficial grinding action with his teeth, thus scraping plaque and tartar off teeth and gums. Do not replace other dog dental care responsibilities -- like brushing your dog's teeth -- by feeding him biscuits but use them as dental supplements and you'll both be happy.

  • Size It Right - Like dogs, biscuits come in all sizes. Do not cater to your dog's innate voraciousness by feeding him biscuits that are far too large for him. You could make him sick that way and maybe even cause him to throw up. Then you would need the stain and odor removal when all you really intended was to give your dog some tasty dog treats.

  • Nighttime Relief - If your dog is prone to vomiting at night, it could be because of a lack of food in his stomach. To resolve this problem, just before bedtime, feed him one or two small biscuits.
