Read About Bored Dog

A bored dog will often exhibit undesirable behavior like digging, chewing, and barking. Here are some ideas to keep your pup´s boredom level down:

  1. Various toys are fun, but toys with food are fabulous for getting the attention of your dog. You should start with either a food-dispensing toy or a chew toy with a spot to hide food. You can start with something easy that the dog can remove from a toy. As he becomes acquainted with the toy and potentially bored, you can ratchet up the difficulty level of either the toy or the "getting the food out" game. Vary the way that you play with the toy. Sometimes you can give it to your puppy when it´s empty so that it´s always a surprise when there are lovely treats hidden inside. In addition, by rubbing the toy yourself with your hands, you can increase the interest and reassurance of the toy. Your dog will think, "Hey, this smells like the Top Dog! I feel better." Food ideas to insert in these toys might include small, hard treats like kibble, dog biscuits pieces, or small cubes of hard cheese. Chewy filled food options might include peanut butter and food frozen into the toy.

  2. Tired dogs sleep and lay about instead of pacing, chewing, or making trouble. If possible, you should take your dog out for a nice long play session before leaving the house for a long period. If your dog likes to retrieve or play catch, you can play catch until your dog is winded. Do not work your pet to exhaustion. You should just give him enough exercise to burn off

  3. Play hide and seek with your dog and the rest of the family. You can instruct your dog to find his people pack by name. You should always praise your dog lavishly when he finds the right person. By doing this activity, everyone in the family will have fun and also not be bored.

Why not try one or more of the above ideas? It is worth it for you and your pet!
