Traveling with your dog can be safe, fun, and pleasant. You must remember that the family pet needs toys as well as someone with a watchful eye to look after him. He must not be allowed to roam free without supervision. And you should remember to take along activity appropriate as well as age appropriate toys for your little darling.
- First of all, you must select your toys carefully for Fido. And you should keep in mind that some toys will be safer than others while traveling. Stuffed animals and chew toys are examples of safe toys. These toys can be used easily in the car during travel and generally do not break off or cause choking.
- Generally speaking, a ball would not be a safe toy to take along. Fido can get excited and he certainly does not know when to look for cars. It is easy for a ball to get away from your pet while he is playing and this can cause many hazards. He may run out into the road to retrieve a ball or he may cause someone to fall trying to catch his toy.
- You must also keep a close eye on your pet while he explores his vacation environment. You must be careful and not let him chew on sticks and cooked bones as these can break off and become lodged in his throat or his intestines. They can also cause teeth to chip and break off.
Traveling with your family pet can be safe and fun. If you would sit down and outline all the things you do or would do for a small child traveling with you, then you have the outline for safe travel of the dog. Let the travel safe fun begin!
