TREATMENT: Dose each horse individually. Carefully determine the weight of the animal to be treated and determine the correct dosage. Mix Alfalfa Pellet Wormer thoroughly with the amount of grain your horse will consume in a single feeding. Do not give the horse additional feed that day until the treated feed is fully consumed. If the horse won't eat the medication, add liquid molasses. NOTE: Horses are constantly subject to reinfestation, particularly through grazing in confined pastures. Therefore, periodic worming and good stable sanitation are essential. For most effective control of internal parasites, use Alfalfa Pellet Wormer every eight to ten weeks. Farnam Continuex® is a highly palatable, easily digestible formula that is safe for all ages. Medicated for continuous feeding. For the prevention of Strongylus vulgaris larval infections in horses. For control of the following parasites in horses: large strongyles (adults), small strongyles (adults and 4th stage larvae), pinworms, and ascarids. Active Drug Ingredients: Pyrantel tartrate – 2.11% Guaranteed Analysis: Crude Protein, not less than – 11.5% Crude Fat, not less than – 1.5% Crude Fiber, maximum – 28.0% Ingredients: Dehydrated Alfalfa Meal, Wheat Middlings, Cane Molasses, Pyrantel Tartrate, Milled Rice Hulls, Calcium Carbonate, Mineral oil, Sodium Aluminosilicate, and Preserved with Propionic Acid. Mixing and Feeding Directions: Continuex (pyrantel tartrate) is to be administered on a continuous basis either as a top-dress or mixed in the horse’s daily grain ration at the rate of 1.2 mg pyrantel tartrate per pound of body weight daily. To achieve this dose, administer 0.5 oz. per 250 lbs. of body weight per day (2 oz. per day for a 1,000 lb. horse). Continuex should be administered for the entire period that the animal is at risk to internal parasites. Unprotected animals that have grazed may have already established S. vulgaris larval infection. Before administering Continuex, these animals should be treated with a therapeutic dose of a larvicidal product. Foals may be administered Continuex as soon as consistent intake of grain mix is occurring. This is generally between two to three months of age. Continuex may be used in mares at any stage of pregnancy or lactation. Stallion fertility is not affected by the use of Continuex. Caution: Consult your veterinarian before using severely debilitated animals and for assistance in the diagnosis, treatment and control of parasitism. Do not mix in feeds containing bentonite.
