Don't Forget Llamas

People often forget that llamas are livestock, but llamas are one of the best livestock pets because they are hardy and fend off diseases that afflict other livestock. Llamas are part of the camel family. They have long necks like camels but they don’t have humps. Llamas are like camels because they’re hardy and don't get sick as easily as goats or sheep. They can also carry heavy loads and are great companions on hikes. They're very sure footed and can navigate tricky areas without stumbling.

Llamas have beautiful wool that is very valuable but must be taken care of. Aside from their wool, Llamas are relatively low maintenance and don’t require a diversified diet like other Miscellaneous Livestock Breeds.

Llama Behavior

Llamas are funny animals. They like to be around people but they big on personal space. Llamas that are raised around people don't mind being touched but, unlike other livestock animals, they don't need other llamas to keep them company. In fact, female llamas are known for spitting on males they want to keep at bay. Llamas don't usually spit on humans. Unlike other livestock, llamas don't feel a need to assert their dominance over humans. They tend to build mutual relationships with humans and can become very loyal.
