Invisible Dog Fence

ImageAn invisible dog fence can keep your dog safe and secure in a confined area, while allowing you and your pet to enjoy the outdoors. Here's everything you need to know about this product.

Reasons To Use an Invisible Dog Fence

The main reason for installing an Invisible Dog Fence is so your dog can run and play outside without being tied to a leash and without the constant worry that the dog will run away or fight with other pets in the area. With a traditional fence, when dogs are determined to they can jump over or dig their way underneath them. The invisible fence is also a perfect solution for residents who live in neighborhoods where they aren't permitted to install wooden fences in their yards.

The Benefits of Using an Invisible Dog Fence

Using an invisible dog fence gives dog's freedom and safety. It gives owners an added sense of security for their pet. Once trained to stay within their allowed area, the fence provides an easy, safe and effective way to control your dog's environment.

Invisible fences can also be used to keep dogs out of certain areas (such as gardens and living rooms) both indoor and outdoor. They offer a working substitution for traditional dog fences that aren't always effective.

How Does the Invisible Dog Fence Work?

Image

Most invisible fences have a buried wire (although there are wireless versions now available) that signals a computerized unit and will send a message to the dog letting him know that he is going out of bounds. Once the dog has tripped the signal, he will get a warning sound. If he ignores the warning, he will get a short, mild shock from his collar that will warn him to back away. The more determined the dog is to cross the line, the stronger the shock will be.

Training With an Invisible Dog Fence

The invisible fence should include training materials and yard flags to show the dog where his boundaries will be. The dog shouldn't be expected to know those boundaries immediately. Expect the training process to take about 2 weeks. The dog will experience fewer shocks and warnings as he learns to play in his designated area. Don't rely entirely on the invisible dog fence to restrict the dog until he is fully trained.
