Herbsmith Impulsion with Composure offers joint support and calming for the vulnerable, excitable horse. This blend is for joint pain, radiating pain to the limbs, numbness in the lower legs, and muscle aches and pain in the trunk and legs. Used to treat limb pain in excitable and easily overstimulated horses, Impulsion with Composure resolves pain while contributing to a calmer and more easily handled temperament. Features: · Offers joint support in excitable horses · Resolves pain · Calming effect Additional Information Chinese Theory: Herbsmith Impulsion with Composure unblocks and relaxes the channels, or meridians, and invigorates the blood. In Chinese medicine, it is used to treat blood stasis, wind and dampness in the channels and collaterals characterized by joint, limb, and trunk discomfort, muscle aches, and numbness in the lower extremities. This blend is indicated for conditions that are primarily excessive. Suggested Use: Two tablespoons two times per day for 20 days then two tablespoons one time per day in grain. Note: In the event of refusal to eat herbs start with small amounts of herbs in grain until the horse is acquainted with the taste. Almost all horses will eat the herbs in their grain. Precautions: Not to be used in pregnant mares some herbs in the blend could cause uterine contractions. Not to be used in a horse with diarrhea. Ingredients: Radix Paeoniae Lactiflorae – bai shao – White Peony root Actions: Calms, curbs, softens and comforts liver yang and alleviates pain in the feet and legs from constrained liver yang, nourishes the blood, and preserves the yin. Radix Angelicae Sinensis - dang gui – Chinese Angelica Root Actions: Invigorates, tonifies, and harmonizes the blood and disperses cold in chronic wind-damp painful obstructions. Note causes uterine contractions and therefore should not to be administered to pregnant mares. Radix Rehmanniae Glutinosae – sheng di huang – Fresh Rehmannia root Actions: Clears heat, cools blood, nourishes yin, generates fluids, and cools upward blazing of heart fire. Semen Persicae – tao ren – Persica, Peach kernel Actions: Breaks up blood stasis moistens intestines. Rhizoma Atractylodes – cang zhu – Atractylodes rhizome Actions: Dries dampness in swollen sore joints in which damp heat is pouring downward of leg Qi and expels wind dampness. Radix Achyranthis Bidentatae – niu xi – Achyranthes root Actions: Invigorates the blood and expels blood stasis, strengthens the sinews and bones and benefits the joints by nourishing the liver and kidney which resolves pain and soreness of the lower back and legs, and clears damp heat manifest as painful obstruction of the lower back and legs. Radix Clematidis – wei ling xian – Chinese Clematis root Actions: Promotes the movement of Qi to unblock channels (meridians) and alleviates pain, dispels wind-dampness, and in mice raised the pain threshold.
