1. Online:

   The internet is the best source to get these pictures. These pictures are used for advertisement and promotion purposes. These are simple pictures taken by home cameras. Such pictures won't show much detail about the kittens or the mother cat. Hence, you need to be sure what you are selecting. Also important is the size of the litter and the breed of the cat. Since most of these pictures will be in the free public download, there won't be copyright problems.

2. Professional Shots:

   You must take the service of a professional photographer if you want to have a good picture of your kitten or cat. Discuss in length with the photographer about the props and the lighting. Ask him or her how the animal would be kept in high spirits during the shoot.

3. Candid Shots:

   Since cats who have recently littered are much to occupied with their kittens, there is no question of candid shots. They will be too busy within themselves to notice that they are being photographed. If you are taking a candid shot anyways, make sure that all the kittens and cats are seen in the picture. It would be better if you could get a shot of the kittens suckling at the teats. This would provide better information.

4. Expense:

   It is very cheap to take photos of cats and kittens with a home camera. All you would have to spend on is film and development. You could use a digital camera, and that would be almost a free job. Downloading such pictures from the free public domain is free.
