Read About Choosing Balling-Bolus Guns

Administering medications, when needed, to your livestock can be difficult. The use of a balling or bolus gun will make the process go much quicker and easier.

Things to Consider:

  • Material – Guns used on adults should preferably be made of metal, which allow for longer use, since the animals will likely try and chew on them. For calves, there are plastic guns that are gentler.

  • Storage – Bolus should be stored in a dry place. If it becomes discolored, you should discard it.

  • Temperature – It is advised that before administering the bolus, make sure it is at room temperature.
