Pond Miscellaneous

Before adding fish to the pond, it’s important to ensure that the water is acceptable to the fish. Here's all you need to know about Pond Miscellaneous.

Prepare Pond Water

Make sure the water in your pond is adjusted for fish before you put the fish in. A pond that’s filled with tap water needs chlorine compounds removers so the fish can survive. These need to be in the pond well before the fish are added. Also, pH levels need to be between 6.5 and 8.4 in order for the fish to survive.

The temperature of the pond is extremely important. Water that is too cold can cause a fish’s immune system to shut down. Water that’s too hot can kill a fish. Ideally, the pond should be 65 degrees Fahrenheit, but a temperature between 62 degrees and 74 degrees is also acceptable.
