Breakaway Stirrups Brown Light

Breakaway Stirrups provide and effective, affordable stirrup for all riders. Available in three tension strengths. The breakaway stirrup is designed to release when pressure is applied laterally, helping to prevent the rider from being dragged after falling from the horse. The middle bar is designed not to realease unless the toe of the foot is pointed upward (as it does when a rider falls from the horse) hooks the the bar and applies lateral pressure. The inner bar will then release, freeing the foot from the stirrup. Can also be used as a stirrup extender to ease mounting. Specify Tension Strength: Light (50-80 lb. rider weight), Medium (80-140 lb. rider weight), or Heavy (140-220 lb. rider weight).
