Read About Birds Chirping

ImageBirds chirping can be a relaxing, soothing noise or it can be an annoying disturbance that wakes you from a peaceful Saturday slumber. Here's some good info on the subject.

Why do birds chirp?

Birds do not chirp outside of your window to disrupt your sleep. They start chirping when they wake up in the morning because they use their many bird chirping noises to communicate with other birds. Bird chirping is a means of communication that is used to warn other birds of predators, indicate when a bird is ripe for mating and to express emotion. It's really the only way that birds have of communication.

How can I get birds to stop chirping?

If you can find the answer to that question, you could make some serious money. The best way to get birds chirping to cease is to get some kind of bird restriction device. This will not stop the birds from chirping, but it will get the birds away from your home or office. Removing the birds from the area will help get rid of the noise that they make.

To stop birds chirping by removing the birds from the area, buy some bird netting or other bird repellant. Bird netting is placed around areas of your house that birds use for nesting or resting. These areas include gutters, chimneys and window sills. Placing bird netting over these areas will stop the birds from roosting in those areas.

You can also use numerous types of bird repellants. Some bird repellents are sticky and are meant to be spread over areas where birds continually land. Birds don't like to land on sticky places so placing this type of bird repellant on the eves or your house will stop birds from landing there and engaging in birds chirping early in the morning.

Move beyond chirping

Bird owners who are raising birds that are within the parrot family can move beyond birds chirping and get their birds to talk instead. Teaching young parrots to talk is much easier than teaching older parrots to talk. Young animals are more impressionable and are more likely to pick up words and phrases.

To push your bird toward talking and away from bird chirping, take your bird out of the cage at least once a day and sit with it for at least 15 minutes. When you're sitting with the bird, put its beak against your mouth and repeatedly say the sentence, word or phrase that you want the bird to learn. After a while, your bird will start to repeat and you'll have successfully graduated your bird from one of many birds chirping to a talker.
