Read About Bird Sounds

ImageWhen you get a new bird, get ready for some new and interesting bird sounds! Here’s everything you need to know about bird sounds.

Birds and their noises

Birds make so many bird sounds that it’s hard to keep them straight, but, if you become a bird owner, you will get used to the bird sounds your bird makes. Every single animal makes different noises to communicate how they feel or what they need. Humans do it, dogs do it and birds do it. However, birds don’t use the same communication methods as humans do, but they do use their bird sounds to convey the same things.

Birds make bird sounds to show that they are scared, see predators, are happy and are ready to mate. When you get a pet you will experience some of these bird sounds yourself. You should know that some birds make more bird sounds than others. If you’re extremely noise sensitive, there are some birds you should stay away from.

Chatty pets

So who are the chatty pets? Birds that love to make lots of sounds include birds in the parrot family and cockatoos. Parrots love to chat and make noises. They talk, squawk and coo. Cockatoos have a penchant for greeting and leaving the day with long, loud screeches that are not the most pleasant of bird sounds. Believe it or not, Love Birds also can make some pretty high pitched bird noises, though they do it when they’re chatting, not necessarily when they’re getting up in the morning.

Annoying bird sounds

Some bird owners find the following bird sounds annoying while others find them endearing. Parrots are notorious for being chatty and even going so far as to learn some human words. Parrots are great and intelligent, but you should know that they will mimic some annoying sounds that aren’t necessarily your traditional bird sounds such as the ding of the microwave and the buzz of other appliances.

They also pick up English and will turn their bird sounds into human words, so watch your mouth when you’re hanging out with your parrot.

When parrots get older and reach an age where they are sexually mature, their bird sounds will get louder and more desperate. Lucky for you, this will pass when the breeding season is over. To completely rid your household of these particular bird sounds, take your bird to the vet and have it fixed so it can’t reproduce and will miss the breeding cycle.
