Read About Pictures of Pet Birds

Birds are difficult to capture in photos, both wild birds and pet birds alike. Pictures of pet birds are certainly easier to take than backyard birds because they are limited to the space of their cages, but getting them to cooperate for a quality picture is another matter.

Funny Bird Pictures

Probably the most common pictures of pet birds are funny by nature. Sure, birds have a serious side, but they tend to act a bit cocky for the camera, strutting their stuff, ruffling their feathers and giving silly looks. Sometimes they use the camera as an excuse to be goofy and will show off by hanging upside down, hiding from the camera or talking back to it and giving attitude to the camera. Rarely do birds "make love to the camera" as human models are said to. Birds are photogenic though and when you capture the right pose, it can be priceless.

Pictures Express Personality

Pet birds that are happy will often seek the attention of the people around them by entertaining them. Pictures of pet birds are a good way to capture their expressions, the funny things they do, their heartfelt emotions and their unique personality traits. A picture of your bird may reveal more to you about his character than simple everyday observation. He may also be a real ham in front of the lens, so be on guard for boisterous behavior as well.

Parrots are especially photogenic birds. They are famous for striking a pose for the camera with a nice head tilt, showing only one side of the face. They can also act quite silly when the camera is in sight, from trying to eat the camera, spreading their wings and acting fierce, and hanging upside down from their toys or perches to show off. They will also step right in front of another bird or a person out of jealousy. These birds want to be seen and they want to be the center of attention.

Taking Good Pictures of Pet Birds

Photography skills aren't necessary to take high quality pictures of your pet birds. Knowing your bird, knowing his limitations and his comfort level, is more important than having camera skills. Toying with your bird in just the right way or promising his favorite treat or activity could help you to get full cooperation and be able to capture the best pictures of pet birds.
