A few ways to keep from choosing unhealthy fish is by looking for a colorless trail of excreta, bumps on the fish, or protruding scales. Also the fish should not sink or bob while swimming, swim with fins against body, or stay in the corner alone. Looking for these things will help you to in choosing fish that are healthy.
