Tower shoots

Tower shoots have become a popular venue for upland bird hunting. In a tower shoot, the hunter rotates stations and waits for a person or a mechanism at the top of a tower to release certain birds. Upland bird hunting that involves tower shoots cost more money, as the place operating the tower has to pay for the land, employees and the birds that are released.

A tower shoot usually includes a variety of different towers. At most places, the bird hunter waits for the birds to be released, shoots at the birds and then rotates towers. Many towers will release the birds several times before having hunters rotate. Towers generally include different birds and take a lot of the chase out of upland bird hunting.
